I provide comprehensive editing services to higher degree research students for conference papers, journal papers, masters and PhD theses. Comphrehensive editing covers three things:
- Content editing
If you want to discuss some potential editing work, send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
When should you contact me?
The sooner the better. Editing takes a long time and I need to schedule it as I only do this work part time. See the calendar below for my current availability.
How much does it cost?
I do not have hourly or piece rates. Instead I price per job. As a rough guide:
- A conference paper (~3000 words) is $125
- A journal paper (~10000 words) is $200
- A master’s thesis (~30000 words) is $500
- A PhD thesis (~50000 words) is $750
Ultimately, the price comes down to the amount of work that needs to be done. If I read a conference paper and it turns out that no or minimal editing is required, I’ll drop the price or even not charge at all. If the paper requires changes to every sentence and is taking a long time, then it might be more. If it is more, I’d be in touch.
For reference, you can see a guide for what self-employed editors should charge.
